Ruth Mumba is Director of Abundance and the champion that leads most activities of Abundance. She is also a Mandela Washington Fellow 2019 and an inspiring young leader. Based in Zomba, she works as a Geologist at the Geological Surveys and has a BSc in Earth Sciences and Geography from University of Malawi. She has received training in USA, Finland and France and represented her department in meetings in South Africa and elsewhere. A reliable and trustworthy person, Ruth is the backbone of Abundance and she works with ease with communities at Mbando village, the village adopted by Abundance. Ruth mobilized funding for the social enterprise (Rice mill) project through World Connect.
Community Coordinator: Moses Phulusa
Moses Phulusa lives in Mbando village and is Abundance's Community Coordinator. He is a influential leader in his community, a rice farmer and father to five children. Abundance relies on Moses for organizing community meetings. Moses has worked with several NGOs to support his community at Mbando village and in the district of Machinga.
At Abundance, Moses has successfully mobilized community members for several projects including setting up the eLearning Center, tree planting, organizing trainings for adolescent girls on reusable sanitary napkins,
Secretary: Stewart Paul
Stewart Paul is Secretary for Abundance and is currently undertaking an MSc Educational Studies (Adult, Community and Youth contexts) program at the University of Glasgow, in the UK. His research interest is on foreign aid and education policy and practice in Malawi. He provides strategic guidance on and provides technical support in the implementation of projects at Abundance. In March 2017, Stewart represented Abundance during the first official meeting of the Sustainable Futures in Africa (SFA) network at the The University of Botswana in Gaborone. In March 2019, he participated in a Research Administrators Workshop in Arusha, Tanzania. He previously worked as Research Assistant at Parent And Child Health Initiative (PACHI) in Lilongwe. Stewart holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Majoring in Psychology) from Chancellor College in Malawi and is interested in education policy, community development and youth empowerment.
Volunteer: Andrew Chikondi Kamvazakazi
Andrew has a bachelors degree of Social Science majoring in Community development from Pentecostal life University, Malawi. He has worked with Abundance Worldwide voluntarily for past few years. He also has a Diploma in Agriculture obtained from Lilongwe University Of Agricultural and Natural Resources (Luanar). He is interested in developing the welfare of the communities and also working in the agriculture sector. He is well experienced in graphic designing and in his pare time he plays volleyball.
Administrator: Grace Moyo
Grace Moyo is the Administrator of Abundance. She lives in Zomba and is also an entrepreneur in addition to undertaking a full time Masters programme at Chancellor College, Malawi. She organizes the day to day administration for Abundance including managing financial accounting, purchases and liaising with partners for meetings. Ruth and Grace worked together to deliver trainings for adolescent girls at Mbando village and is currently actively involved in our Bioenergy project. Grace underwent training at Cape Town for Research Administrators through the Sustainable Futures in Africa Network.
