CYCLONE FREDDY RESPONSE PROJECT , MBANDO ,TA MPOSA
Team Abundance went to Mbando village on 15 April to provide materials to 63 households affected by cyclone Freddy and representatives were present largely with women (with 58/5 female to male ratio).
TA Mposa has 13 camps for those whose houses destroyed. But still more, some people are not on the campus as they are being kept by relatives who have insisted that they need to be together even closer now than seeing dear relatives in camps. And these are not being counted as part of camp populations and they are many.
Like the 63 households which received help are not necessarily from the camps but these are those whose wherewithal has been washed away (animals, crops and assets). Dilapidated houses are quite many and most of them have been abandoned.
The items included
Flour, salt, bonya, soya pieces, laundry soap, cooking oil, matches, sugar.
It was a colorful event , It ended very well with smiles on the faces of the victims. The disaster management relief officer parted me on the shoulder. The team(ABUNDANCE) was so good at making a budget suitable for MBANDO. May God bless our team .We are here to Share in times of need by Moses
This was possible with kind contributions from Cyril Anand Bakianathan, Damian Kenny, Anoop Varikkakuzhiyil, Julie Charmetant, Mega Areglado-Isaac, Andrew McGregor, Deepa Pullanikkatil and anonymous donors.
